Virginia unemployment file extension

Once your eligibility is determined, you may complete a separate PUA application. You should continue to file weekly certifications during this process. If you are eligible for PUA benefits for weeks that have already passed, you may recover back pay if you submitted weekly certifications.

Individuals who work reduced hours due to the COVID pandemic may still be eligible to collect partial unemployment benefits if your gross earnings are less than the weekly benefit amount.

You must continue to file your weekly certification and report any of your wages in the week they were earned, not received.

Wages earned may reduce your unemployment benefit. Question: has anyone received payment for the week ending on Sep 4th? I was able to file my weekly claim successfully however I have not received payment yet.

Any ideas? I was wondering the same thing. I thought the same as you thought about the holiday. And then I saw a post from them saying that they were sending out payments on the 13th this past Monday to the people who did not receive payment last week. This is incredibly irritating. I have a 2 year old daughter and her father is deceased.

I know everyone has a situation, but I really need this money. The issue primarily concerns the PUA program. There has been a delay in issuing some of the payments to those who are under this benefit program. We are working to resolve the situation and will post another update here as additional information becomes available.

Same here. Andy would know details. Does it happen to anyone? Could you explain this Adam thanks. Seems like you me and a lot of people are in the same boat I actually have some correspondence from the higher up management.

Seems like we are not going to get that check without a fight. Then get a job! I have 40 weeks that I have not been paid for, and I am still waiting for. I have to print out every one of my weekly claims, and I have to print out all my wages for , print out communication I had with the Virginia unemployment complaint lady.

That is a lot of printing ink and printing paper plus postage. Because now I have to manually send everything in to the Virginia unemployment commissioner. I have sent in the documents from my taxes 3 times and still have not gotten my back pay. I wonder what is going on. So now they need to pay for 4 weeks again. I wonder when or never this time ……. Me either and I would love to know why. I sent in the documents they asked for weeks ago. What is going on?

Did that happened to you too? What you think? However I did not receive any link for ID. I finally receive all my backpay from June 3rd and so did my husband. Everyone had to send in documents whether it was W2s or secondary documents. Just wanted to tell everyone to check their accounts our hit this morning. It said my money was deposited on August 6, so you should keep checking and keep your hopes up. Google Legal Aid Justice Center and join their email list.

They will contact them for you and the VEC will contact you in about a week. I joined last week and I received email from Vec today to call them and I spoke with customer service.

Case was on hold and now pending until deputy makes decision. My claim also abruptly stopped at the beginning of June. I recieved a letter saying that I qualified for benefits that was mailed July 12th and still have not received any payment yet. I filed my claim in November Btw. Anyone had same problems with 17th payment? What to do. I was supposed to have a call today at I got 2 emails from VEC reminding me.

So frustrating. So maybe it was my fault. At least you got a call. Still have to do job search requirements and up until 2 weeks ago it would give me a confirmation number of 0. I have seen a pattern of people whose PUA stopped paying in June. These people are able to file weekly claims and are able to report job contacts each week.

However these people have not been paid since the beginning of June. There were documents required to be submitted to prove that you were self employed in These documents were due by May 28th If not submitted then payments back till January thru may could be demanded to be repaid.

There is no way to submit after May 28th. If you did not submit documents then you will have to wait until they come back asking for repayment, and then file an appeal. If you submitted Secondary Documents and have been filing, but have not been paid; then it is due to waiting on an actual live human to verify your Secondary Documents. Additionally, if you file on the phone after 5pm, it may say there are no weeks available. Dont worry, file on the phone M-F 8am-5pm.

It feels very nervous. Then log back in and re enroll in the service. Their will now be a link to click each but will not chronicle all the new weeks filed like before. I hope this helps some people. I have this problem i sint receive from jun 3 bcs i have a problem to do in gov2go i do by mail but nothing what i have to do. Andy seems to be clueless in my opinion. I try to call and no one answers. Someone else also posted this, but The reason why your payments stopped is because they mailed you a letter asking you to submit documents back in March.

Now you have to wait to get a new letter asking for an Appeal. Hey, yeah I stopped receiving payments on the 3rd also. That decision is not final and can be appealed. If I find more I will post. Honestly…I think they may be doing this intentionally to force people back to work. Who knows??? Hi again. This letter does not tell me to go to ID me website. The letter states that I have 14 days to get this done. Hi Micah…quick question…was the letter mailed to you?

Please I need any information you might have on this…God Bless. Adam, yes it was mailed to me, got it today 23rd and it also has this big bar code looking thing on the letter. Good Luck. ME that others have spoken of.

Good Luck and I hope you will get the letter that I got or hope something shakes loose for you. Did anyone else get a letter in the mail asking you to fill out your information about your Identity and then either Fax or Mail back your information?

Hi, I just received this letter today. Only the original PUA claim via gov2go. What did you end up finding out about this letter of identity verification? Did you fax everything in? Also if I was an independent contractor, do I put that under employment. All so confusing. I had submitted all required documents and called a bunch only to be told that claim was under review.

At beginning of May I got through and they said that i had not send in the ID information. I asked what that was and they said oh, you are a new claimant, we need to send you a letter. No letter came. At the end of May I called back and asked them to resend the letter and I got it in 2 days and faxed and mailed back that day June 1.

Called back mid June and they say they never got it which is BS so I had to refax and now they reportedly have it. According to customer service they send this to the fraud unit who does something to clear up your account. I am hoping they do this in the next month or two and by that time will have developed some new hoops to jump through to prevent payment.

The whole process is a disgrace. I just wondered if anything good comes from these appointments…like getting paid? I had my 20 minute phone call from the VEC and it was laughable. We went back and forth over my email address and I at one point asked him how he even knew to call me for the appointment. Very, very disappointing! A total waste of my time! I just wanted to make you aware that the VEC is under scrutiny for their poor handling of unemployment benefits. The VEC has hired 30O more people to handle their caseload.

There have been several news articles online in the past 2 days regarding the poor handling of cases from VEC. Just curious. The appointment was a joke. I had one such appointment.. Not a phone interview.

What it said we are working to clear up your issues. And it was just a text? ME today. Do you, or anyone know if I need to take another step, like linking it to an account, or should I sit back and wait? Tony, I did the same exact thing to no avail. That was about 3 weeks ago, spent over 8 dollars to fax everything and still no payment after June 3 You have to go to The Virginia Workforce Connection office to schedule an appointment for anyone wondering. Micah did you set up an appointment?

I was hoping someone on this site could tell me what to expect. Already verified my identity on id. If I find out anything I will keep you posted as well. Complete waste of time and very very disappointing! Weds June 23rd Roanoke, Va — I have been receiving unemployment since June consistently when filing my weeks.

Like everyone else, i have received no money for about 3 weeks now. Soooo — where is my payment? Am I alone? Anyone have any luck? How does the news NOT know this??!!! For real s.

If I have any luck or find something out I will post on here for others, promise. I hope this issue is resolved. Most people may be experiencing problems because you need verify your identity.

Maybe it never got approved so. You have to use the link specific to VEC. Did you establish an account? Then you need to set up an account agree to terms. Then you have to put in your SSN. You will get emails stating that you have successfully done everything. Hope this helps. Good luck everyone.

The employment office needs to send us an email to use the IDme verification. If you create an account all you get from IDme is emails with discounts if you are a nurse or cop. As well it just allowed me to file for the past 5 weeks last week. I did this at a local FedEx place. Who knows how long my info will sit at the fax machine. I have no clue. It was after we had to use our PIN the first time, after that it just stopped giving me weeks.

Then I get this letter in the mail saying identify authentication and a claim associated with my SSN May have an identity issue? I went to fedex and tried to fax it 3 times no luck, it was busy signal, they gave me a bad or busy number.

So I went to usps and just mailed all my stuff in: s from all my independent contract work from June present. How am I supposed to get it there with 2 days notice??

Hi SR, I read your response and am very sorry for your struggles. I just wanted to tell you that I stopped getting weeks to file in Gov2go app also. I was just trying anything and that worked for me and it still works! Best of luck to you and I hope it all works out.

Answer: If you have an appeal pending and it is resolved in your favor, we would pay you for any of the weeks you had submitted under the state regular UI program or the federal programs like PUA and PEUC. The VEC will process and pay benefits to eligible claimants for all weeks of unemployment ending on or before the date of termination in accordance with guidance from the United States Department of Labor.

If a claimant is entitled to benefits and the claim is found to be valid after that date through a subsequent determination or appeal, the claimant will be paid those funds, even after the federal programs have ended.
