Aiw 8500dv manual
The Radeon DV provides excellent audio and visual performance. The sound was very crisp and clear during both our headphones and 4. Using the adapter dongle, the video and audio were both excellent as well. I wish that the SPDIF output were on the back of the card versus being on the dongle because the cable just looks tacky in my opinion. On their site ATIsays a component output package will not be available until sometime in Well, is here, where is this package?
This is very confusing to the consumer and could be considered false advertising. My rant is over, but I cannot express how disappointed I was when finding this out. There was something that surprised me in the Radeon DV package and that was the inclusion of an RF remote control. The remote is very easy to use and has an extremely long range. The buttons are easy to read and you can even control the mouse pointer with the remote. I found that my computers mouse still worked even though the remote could control the mouse as well.
There were no compatibility issues. I do think the buttons on the remote are the cheapest I have ever seen to date.
They smooshed down as though they were filled with air! The onboard tuner is slightly more prone to signal disturbance than is the tuner that comes with Nvidia's Personal Cinema; this is in an external breakout box. However, time-shifted and captured-video performance is excellent, and you may set the video quality anywhere from modem-friendly x, 30KB-per-second video to full x, 8MB-per-second MPEG The card is backed by a three-year limited warranty.
The company's Web site offers troubleshooting FAQs, a knowledge base, driver updates, and e-mail support. Telephone support is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.
ET sorry, weekend warriors , but it's a toll call to Canada. All for what? It's also the only all-in-one solution on the market with a DV port--problematic or no. ATI splits its dongle between inputs…. Two manuals and four CDs, stacked. A dated GeForce2 MX hides under the heat sink. Looks suspiciously like a GeForce2 MX. Philips provides the chip necessary for the Personal Cinema. Memory chips are split between the front and back of the PCB.

There is an additional piece of silicon on the board that is contained within a bit of metal shielding.
While the vast majority of TV tuners are analog based meaning they use analog components such as resistors, inductors and capacitors to create band-pass filters that allow certain frequencies to pass through thus "tuning" to those channels, the AIW Radeon DV implements virtually all of those analog components into a single piece of silicon.
This gives the DV a digital TV tuner this doesn't mean it can receive HDTV channels, it just means it uses digital circuitry instead of analog which in theory can offer better quality as a result of decreased interference and faster tuning. The quality argument is generally one that isn't noticeable because of the poor quality of cable TV however on an extremely high quality cable TV feeds you may notice a quality improvement courtesy of the silicon based tuner. While it also gives you faster tuning abilities meaning you can surf as fast as humanly possible , ATI has always had relatively fast TV tuners on their cards, including their analog tuners.
Click to Enlarge As its name implies, the DV offered inputs specifically for digital video cameras giving ATI the ability to call it a true digital video editing solution.
