How to reglaze a window using putty. Putty in good condition takes longer to remove. Every window with single glazing actually has two lots of putty applied. Silicone bonds very well to wood and glass and lasts a lifetime. The goal is ensuring that the interior edge of putty is in line and firm against the wooden mullion at the opposite side. Carefully put the glass on top of the putty. Consider using a heat gun if possible, as it will first soften the glazing before removing it. Go slow, take your time and dig out all the loose old glazing with your putty knife.

Your now treated frames should look brand new. You can either have them powder coated or paint them before re-installation back into their portals.
